Picpage Features and Usage

The goal of Picpage is to be simple and fast to use.

You will notice that it is divided into 3 steps.

Step 1:  Choose a folder of photos

In step one, you have only one button. When you click the "Choose" button, you will be asked to choose a folder of photos already on your computer. The photos can be bmp, jpg, gif or png.  Once a folder has been chosen, and if it contains photos, then Step 1 will look like this:

I chose a folder on my desktop called "example" and now I am done Step 1.

Step 2: Set your preferences (optional)

Step two is optional, because you can just leave it how it is. Or, if you like, you can tinker. This step affects how the resulting web page will look. Shown below are the options that you can pick, as well as explanations of them.

Title of Web Page changes the text at the top of  he web page
Width (pixels) width in pixels of the photos (between 400-700 is a good range to stick with)
Background Color color of the web page (text will be an opposite color)
show photo names
 if checked, the name of each photo will be displayed below the photo
include index mini-photos
 if checked, small versions of the photos will be displayed at the bottom of the web page. These small pictures are linked to the large versions.


These options take effect when the Create Page button is pressed. When the program is closed, these options are saved until Picpage is used again, for your convenience.

Step 3: Create and try the result

There is one button in this part. When it is clicked, two things will happen. First, the folder containing the resulting web page will be displayed for your convenience. Second, the web page will be displayed in your Internet browser. Once you are happy with the results, you are can upload the page and share the link by email.
